Organized by National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) and Chaoyang University of Technology, sponsored by Harbin Institute of Technology and IEEE Signal Processing Society Tainan Chapter, the 27th International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA-AIE-2014) will be held in Kaohsiung during June 3-6, 2014.
The 27th International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA-AIE-2014) continues the tradition of emphasizing applications of applied intelligent systems to solve real-life problems in all areas including engineering, science, industry, automation & robotics, business & finance, medicine and biomedicine, bioinformatics, cyberspace, and human-machine interactions.
The 27th International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA-AIE-2014) will include oral presentations, invited speakers, special sessions, and a doctoral consortium. Authors are invited to submit their papers in English of up to 10 single spaced pages, presenting the results of original research or innovative practical applications relevant to the conference. Practical experiences with state-of-the-art AI methodologies are also acceptable when they reflect lessons of unique value to the conference attendees. Shorter works, up to 6 pages, to be presented in 10 minutes, may be submitted as short papers representing work in progress or suggesting possible research directions.
All paper submissions of the 27th International Conference on Industrial, Engineering and Other Applications of Applied Intelligent Systems (IEA-AIE-2014) will be done electronically, as indicated in the instructions on the conference web site http://bit.kuas.edu.tw/~ieaaie14. All papers will be peer reviewed and final copies of papers for inclusion to the conference proceedings will be published in a bound volume by Springer-Verlag (formatting instructions are available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html) in their Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. Referees will be asked to nominate papers for a Best Paper Award to be announced at the conference. All papers will be automatically considered for publication in an expanded form in selected international journals as follows:

Name: National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS)
Address: 415 Chien Kung Road, Sanmin District, Kaohsiung 80778, Taiwan, R.O.C.
Founded in 1963, National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) was originally known as the Provincial Kaohsiung Institute of Technology with the aim to educate technical professionals to meet the demands of national economic development. In 2000, the beginning of the new millennium, the Institute evolved to be a four-year technical university and the present name was adopted. This transformation from a junior college to a technological university has opened up a new page for National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) . After more than a decade of development and expansion, now National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences (KUAS) has reinvented itself as the leading technological university in southern Taiwan, enjoying an excellent reputation for its teaching excellence, innovative research, and extensive industry-academia collaboration.
